Analyzing my Writing
After a bit of reflection on my posts over the past year, I came to some conclusions.
I’ve been writing this newsletter semi-regularly, and the other day I got curious about what people like you are actually interested in reading. Substack gives me some basic analytics — things like views, where subscribers came from, and open rates. It’s not much, but it does tell a bit of a story.
My most popular post so far has been “Building, Applying, and Networking”, which shares the entrepreneurial journey I’m on. The runner-up? “Six Years, One Meeting, then Poof” — also a personal story. There’s a clear trend here.
Readers seem to connect most with the behind-the-scenes view of what I’m doing. I’m still figuring out exactly why, but it’s something I’m paying attention to and trying to learn from.
My goal is to write content people enjoy while also staying true to what I care about. Lately, I’ve been shipping things like JobTracker, QuestBoard, Teen Tech Camp, and more. I also started a consultancy to help small businesses with software and AI. That part has been slower to grow, but I’ve started getting more interest recently.
So that’s the plan: more personal journey posts, with a side of shipped projects — and maybe the occasional travel story for fun. Thanks for reading and being along for the ride.
